FIRST ALERT DAY: Severe weather, hail and tornado warnings enter QCA
On March 10, 2026 the Quad Cities Area saw a First Alert Day with strong storms moving through the area promoting tornado warnings and delivering large hail across the region.

Kate was the only field and live shot reporter this day covering the storm from an area predicted to be at the center of the storm.

38th annual Tug Fest takes place between LeClaire and Port Byron
The Tug Fest, held in LeClaire, Iowa, and Port Byron, Illinois, is the only event that shuts down the Mississippi River for the tug of war event.
The event has tuggers battle it out hand and rope to be named this year’s champion.

Centennial Bridge's history over the years, funding for bridge allocated
Plans for a new Centennial Bridge were outlined in Illinois’ annual infrastructure plan, released earlier this month.
​
The Illinois Department of Transportation has set aside $309 million in funding for the new bridge. The cost will be shared equally with Iowa as well. IDOT owns the bridge, which they have identified as structurally deficient.

Schools placed on lockdown for unfounded report of gun, superintendent says
No students were hurt after North Scott High School was placed on lockdown due to an unfounded report of a gun, school officials say.
​
North Scott Superintendent Joe Stutting told KWQC-TV6 there was a report of a gun in the high school and the school was put on lockdown.
