Rapids City firefighter celebrates recovery 1 year later after being injured on the job
A trip around the bases at Modern Woodmen Park marks a story of triumph and recovery for a local firefighter.

Mary Beth Eggers is a volunteer firefighter at the Rapids City Fire Protection District in Illinois and on July 15, 2024 she was hurt on the job after a tree fell on her while she was battling a fire.

Just a couple of months ago, a Port Byron family was devastated. The Declercq family had to say goodbye to their six-month-old daughter after a rare cancer diagnosis.

King's Harvest Pet Rescue gets creative to get adoptions
A Facebook post from a local animal shelter sparked a call to action.
​
King’s Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter, 21110 Holden Drive, tagged KWQC’s Kyle Kiel and Kate Kopatich in a post this week, saying some local celebrities needed a home.
​
The shelter named two of their pit-mix, six-month-old puppies, after Kyle and Kate.
​
It’s a move the shelter hopes will bring awareness to getting each of them adopted.

Gathering of the Green returns to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary
The Quad Cities will welcome Gathering of the Green, a national conference celebrating the legacy of John Deere and its impact on American agriculture.

This year’s theme is “An American Original” which aligns with America’s 250th anniversary and will highlight the innovation and influence of John Deere equipment across generations.

What started as a gift from her great-grandmother has grown into a Guinness World Records title for a Quad-Cities collector.

Cammie Pohl’s Mississippi Spoon Gallery in Davenport now holds more than 38,000 spoons, the largest spoon collection in the world, according to Guinness.

A week from Thursday marks 29 years since the disappearance of Trudy Appleby.

With Appleby’s memory heavy on the hearts and minds of the community and those who knew her, First Baptist Church in East Moline is preparing for their annual candlelight vigil to honor Appleby, and this year there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Port Byron family giving back to QCA youth football to honor former coaches life
Under the Friday night lights, the Riverdale Rams and community, honored the life of one of their own taken too soon.
​
Eric Lange was a Jr. Rams football coach within the Riverdale School District who was deeply committed to giving back to youth football in the Quad Cities area.
​
Earlier this year, Lange tragically lost his life in a crash.
